Your Guide to
Mindful Business Decisions
Meet Lindsey
With two degrees in Accounting, Lindsey Jacobson began her professional career in Financial Statement and IT Audit/Advisory at CPA firms for eight years before becoming an Independent Consultant. Lindsey now advises VPs and Executives who are pressured to meet industry demands with ever-evolving technologies, complex regulatory environments, and new compliance requirements.
Lindsey has consulted for a diverse array of Public and Private clients across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, including governments, non-profit organizations, and Universities. Typically working with high-risk financial systems and business-critical applications, Lindsey is proficient with technology-driven processes used by key functions of an organization. She's successfully managed client projects and consulting engagements with budgets ranging from $3k to $1.2M and teams of up to 15 people.
Lindsey is also passionate about coaching and mentoring local, small business entrepreneurs. During the height of the recent Pandemic (March 2020 - Sept 2021) Lindsey worked pro-bono with three separate female founders to stand up their businesses in Portland, OR - a CBD Product Line, a junk removal service, and a pop-up restaurant. Two of these three businesses are still in operation today, and the third business owner was able to attain an Executive position upon closing their business.
PRofessional PhilosOphy
“Just as I don’t like to waste money, I don’t want my clients to feel like they are wasting theirs, which is why I take extra care to listen, proactively communicate, and solicit feedback from them throughout the lifecycle of a project. I strive to identify feasible solutions and avoid drowning clients in trending products and unnecessary services.”
Core Values
Influence - Paying attention to who has influence in the room. Sharing the mic. Having self-awareness of our privileges, and humility to take accountability for ourselves.
Community & Allyship - Caring about people outside yourself. Striving to be a supporter and ally to historically excluded and underrepresented voices. Not tolerating hate speech, slurs, or actions of any kind.
Big Picture thinking - Stepping back to see the big picture. Thinking at a systems level, and the view from the top-down. Encouraging diverse teams and diversity of thought to alleviate organizational blind spots and avoid homogenous thinking.
Transparency - Having transparent, direct communication. Taking accountability and responsibility where it is due. A speak-up culture - see something, say something.
Wellness - Prioritizing your people over profits. Making time for mental and physical wellness, self-care, and playfulness are essential for human happiness, and avoiding burnout.
Servant Leadership - Making yourself useful, leading for a “greater good” than personal outcomes. Leading by example with a role model mindset. Always trying to do what’s best for all, not just a few.
